We are continuing our series on “Come to the Table”. Last we looked at the story of the Walk to Emmaus when the disciples’ eyes were opened to Christ when they sat together at the table for a meal. This week we are looking at the story in Luke 14 about the guests that do not show up for a wedding banquet. The wedding banquet is a metaphor for the Kingdom of God. Those that were invited to the table made excuses to not accept the invitation so the King’s servant went out and invited in those that normally would not be invited to such an event. The Kingdom of God is open to all. The Table of God is open to all. We will once again be taking communion this Sunday and each week during this series. Come to the Table, for all is ready!
