Jesus was from Nazareth. Not the place people expected God's anointed, the Messiah, to come from. When Phillip tells Nathaniel that he found the Messiah from Nazareth, Nathaniel asked, "What good can come from Nazareth?" This invites us to live with openness today for how God will show up and invite us to "come and see" how he will show up in very surprising places among surprising people. God's grace comes to us in Jesus from the margins of society and in so doing encompasses the whole.
