We are a connectional denomination. Grace UMC is one of approximately 33,000 United Methodist Churches across America (and even more worldwide). There are approximately 700 in Florida.
We are in the Noth East with approximately 87 other UMC Churches.
There are nine districts in the Florida Conference, each led by a District Superintendent who has administrative and pastoral oversight in his/her district.
The Florida Conference is under the ministry of our Bishop, Kenneth Carter. The Bishop is the highest position in the United Methodist Church and the bishops meet regularly together as the Council of Bishops.
There are 60 Conferences in America.
Clergy and Lay representatives from all conferences meet together every four years at General Conference to decide policy for the church at large and every four years in Jurisdictions (we are in the Southeast Jurisdiction) to elect new bishops.
Each UMC has its own unique style of ministry, but we do connect together on a great deal to accomplish great mission work and ministry around the globe and in our own backyard.
“Connected” denomination of millions who pray, serve and give together to make God’s love real.
United Methodist Christians live a warm-hearted Christianity with a strong emphasis on both personal transformation and social action that changes the world one life at a time through God’s amazing love and grace.
